Honestly, I never take a look at pageviews. It's pretty meaningless I think. I watch a person because of their work, or they're my friends. It's their art and how it makes me feel that gets me to watch people! =]

I admit I do pay attention to pageviews but It doesn't impact my watching of deviants. Its just for me always interesting to view others statistics plus congratulate others on their success. Plus some numbers are impressive like $spyed's 1M+ Pageviews.

I don't even notice page views. I watch based on their art. I do pay close attention to people's favs though. I find a lot of really great art I wouldn't normally see by viewing other people's favourite galleries.

Pageviews are overrated. I am blind to them and have been for some time. I am not going to base my opinion on your supposed popularity.

I do not understand the appeal of pageviews other than a counters. I have been guilty of giving out "Kiriban" prizes, but I think of it as something done on a lark and a way to interact with my viewers. There are people who actively solicit pageviews, favourites and watches out there, perhaps out of the sense of social security and ego-comfort. But that's vanity, after all.

The worth of an artist lies not in the number of people who has viewed his work, but how well he or she has matured and improved over his or her career. There are ways to fake pageviews, easy. But there is no way to cheat out of inspiration and creativity.
