Get a few friends together and make a promise that somehow every single day you will tell each friend one thing that makes them awesome and unique individuals unlike no other. You're their friend for a reason, and their your friends for their reasons. You just have to let them know and hear them out.
I'm your friend for a reason, I don't want you to constantly feel bad. So let my words influence you positively when you feel down; I want you to know as a friend how awesome you are. I want you to feel that awesomeness for yourself, so I'll remind you every day of it.
So I'll play my game, and make it happen. You should do it too.

First, thank you for agreeing to be interviewed! I truly appreciate it. If you don't mind, could you tell us briefly how it was that you came to be an official staff member, and about how long ago that was?
I joined deviantART as  a member in 2003 and in 2004 I started volunteering as a Photography Gallery Director.  After volunteering in that area for a little over a year I was offered a job as the Director of Artist Relations (Now Community Relations) in June of 2005 :)

This first issue is a little different from others – I became a Community Volunteer in the last days of September, and `ginkgografix’ last monthly DD collection was in July. :eager: As part deviantART Staff Appreciation Week, `SanguineEpitaph and #StaffAppreciation team have come up with a fun project for deviants.
Ever wonder what it's like at deviantART Headquarters? So do we! And since most of us will never know, we've decided to let our imaginations run wild and create what we think HQ would be like...if it were run by emoticons!
This project is open for anyone who can create an emote or some sort of pixel art.  The project challenges you to make piece representing a part of dA HQ. You can create something specific to a real-life member, such as an emoticon of $Moonbeam13, or something abstract like a general emote member of the Help Desk. We're also looking for pixel furniture (think desks, chairs, sofas), art for the walls, and other fun stuff you might imagine in the HQ offices. The #StaffAppreciation team has started things out, adding some rooms and props. It's up to you to help us complete the pic

:damphyr: Could you give us a brief description of what you do, in terms of working for deviantART?
I'm the senior member of the CEA. My duties include the moderation desk handling reports from the community, Help Desk tickets sent in, educating the community and just general search-and-destroy for porn, trolls, etc.
:damphyr: Was joining the dA team a passion or dream, or was it something you happened to get into just as a job?

:bulletblue: Firstly, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?
My name is Danielle, I'm 22, and I am currently going for a BA in Business Administration at Neumann University. I earn my living and tuition by working as an electronics sales associate at Wal-Mart. Art has been a hobby of mine since I was younger, but it's been a larger part of my life for the last few years once I became more serious about it. My other hobbies include reading and listening to music. There're many more but those are the two primary ones. :meow:
:bulletblue: What gave you the idea to register with your us
CodePLZ - What is the plan?:idea: The plan, in part, is to have a discussion.
As we began to examine the Emoticons category we quickly learned that we had a bit of a mess to clean up, but fortunately it's a very cute mess and very fun to think about. :D
As a category, Chat Friendly Emotes isn't going to cut it anymore. There are Emotes in it that come from various inspirations, meanwhile,  a very clear culture that has formed around Emotes that deviantART specifically has always supported. The ones that are 15 x 15 pixels in size doing all wonders of things. Providing a category for this specific, and very popular style is a must and this would split those  Emotes from intermingling with other sized, shaped and styled Emotes.
The thought was to make this style reside within the new category, "Chat Friendly PLZ" but let's discuss that! Changing a category name takes us a matter of seconds to do, so we would love your input on the final name for the category - home to the adorable
