Please take a minute and consider faving this journal as well as commenting on it with any suggestions you might have! This will help us improve and be found by more deviants!

During posting, we found that we exceeded the maximum length for the Journals. Because of that we have been forced to split the blog into 5 parts (yes really). In order for us to become noticed, please ONLY fave and comment on this journal. Navigation for the next article is on the bottom of this page.

Hello Everyone!
I would like to welcome you all to the first edition of the devNEWS Bi-Monthly Article! We are happy to release this amazing new skin created for us by GillianIvy Please consider commissioning GillianIvy, she has an ad below for an etsy shop that includes a discount! (Everyone should go and send her lots of love!)

In addition, we wanted to kick this month off with a bang! So, we have a deviant of the month, a contest, lots of news, as well as room for improvement based on your suggestions! So here we go!

We know this article may look a little confusing at first, so we wanted to orient you. In all honesty this is the simplest it has EVER been for our readers, and our contributors! We made it much more like a news article.

Here's a few steps to get you started!
1. Articles are categorized below. Find a category you are interested in!
2. You will see a number of thumbs and icons. The icons are the devNEWS writers who collected the news item!
3. Select one of the thumbs or the "Read More" button to go to the article!
4. Then keep searching for more! That's It!

Deviant of the Month

We at DevNews choose 1 deviant from the community. This deviant just has to be an outstanding deviant in the community, someone who cares about others and the community! Someone we identify as a leader in the community. This deviant can be anyone, anywhere on dA.

This month, we would like to award it to someone we believe is an outstanding deviant in the community!

iLantiis is well known around the community for her hard work in deviantHEART and her most recent project, the dAWishingWell, which aims at granting wishes of deviants around the world. Congratulations!

2 Amazing Community Projects

We wanted to take a moment and support two amazing community projects. All the details are in the news articles!
100 Premium Memberships, 63,600 points!I am looking to collect 63,600 points by 25 December 2012!
I am raising 63,600 points to give 100 3-month premium memberships on Christmas Day of 2012, to give a little something back to deviants who give a lot to the community. I cannot do this alone.
How do you donate?
To donate to this cause, go to PrinceJose's page and click "Donate" on the donation pool, or go to the "Give" drop-down menu at the top-right of the page and select "Give Points." No matter which way you give, I still get them! :happybounce:
How else can you help besides donating?
To further help the cause, please favourite this news article and feature it in your next journal, poll, and send it to your friends! It will really mean a lot to the future recipients and myself. It doesn't matter how many watchers you have, but I need your help for this to be known to everyone site-wide!
You can also show your support with this stamp!

UPDATES CONT. - Warm Winter Project: 2012UPDATE 9 - As of Sunday, November 25, 2012, I WAS ABLE TO MEET AND PURCHASE MY DONATION GOAL OF 50 HOODIES thanks to deviantART's 30% off Black Friday sale as well as my 10% Premium Member Discount. Congratulations to us and thank you to everyone who helped out!
UPDATE 8 - As of Saturday, November 17, 2012, we are at 125,125 points, with only 34,875 points left to go! I was able to purchase 2,000 points a moment ago to put directly into the pool myself. My original intent was to get 8,000, but I ended up working less than I expected this week and was unable to, but as of my next paycheck (in two weeks), I will be able to purchase 8,000! That will leave us with 26,875. And after TimberClipse's AWESOME point doubler, like the one that helped out and did so amazingly earlier in the year, that will be another 8,000, leaving us with only 18,875! And his doubler is already halfway full with much thanks to rainylake for immediately putting 2,000 points in

Both PrinceJose and ToxicAlice92 are amazing deviants doing amazing projects. Please take a look!

They need to lift the limit. :noes:
Even though it got split up, it still looks great! :la:

You could take advantage of the headers and footers, lol... you can fit as much HTML and text as you want!
TimberClipse Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Professional Filmographer
That counts towards the KB count sadly. That (appears) to be why we are over in fact as about 70% of the content in this post is in the header/footer

Is there a specific theme to the contest? Or can it be anything our heart desires it to be?
TimberClipse Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Professional Filmographer
Anything your heart desires!

litecrush Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Student Digital Artist
Looks fantastic. :la: If only you could put a little more than 60 KB in one Journal. :<

Omg the new layout is awesome! You are right that it is much easier to navigate! And woo, thanks for the props!

No worries! It's kind of neat having multiple pages =P
TimberClipse Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Professional Filmographer
Yeah, I (kind of) like it, but it wasn't the original idea, so we have to find a way to either perfect it to work with the 60 KB limit.
pixiepot Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Student Artist
It looks awesome!
TimberClipse Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2012  Professional Filmographer
Before it is suggested: We are already looking into ways to make the blog smaller, and will (hopefully) have that for next time. We had never run into the issue before as it was never a problem for news articles. With Journal and being merged, we are now at a 60KB limit. Apparently, our journals are more then 300KB in total, so we ran into this as a snag.

Do not worry!
