The dArt Showdown is a deviantART centered, team competition that will last the next number of weeks on deviantART. Hosted by `TimberClipse and `IceXDragon in conjunction with #DevNews it is likely the first major team competition on deviantART with thousands of points and other prizes up for grabs!
`TimberClipse posted a few days ago suggestions for a project you would want to host, `IceXDragon came up with the idea of a Art Showdown. The two members then worked together in order to present a new and great contest.

On the importance of terminology
As mentioned in the intro, the biggest problem when it comes to Daily Deviations arises with the choice of words used to describe what a Daily Deviaton is. When you call it an award, people will automatically assume that the Daily Deviation is the cream of the crop of every deviation posted ever on this site and that no art featured after it should be able to be perceived as "worse". Feature for Angelo Sotira's Birthday!Tomorrow, February 14, 2013, is +spyed's birthday for those of you who may not know. Angelo is most likely the most dedicated deviant out there, after all, he keeps this place going. Hello Everyone!
The Symbol of Peace, a short documentary that I have worked on for the last year was accepted into film festivals earlier this year including the Peace River Film Festival where it will be screening this weekend on September 23, at 2:00PM, and the MovingMedia Film Festival at Wayne State University.
Although it was a great honor for me to have the film screened at these two festivals they were two of the smaller festivals we were accepted into.
The Symbol of Peace, Directed and filmed by Zev Vel, will share the inspiring stories and dreams of the people who love the peace sign and have created their own peace signs to display on their homes and businesses.

5 Weeks in Europe | Experience of a Lifetime!Bonjour Deviants!
Wow. What a trip. And it's still going!! Headed back tomorrow morning.
So for those of you who didn't know, I spent the last five weeks in Ireland and France first with an NYU Tisch Program and then with a friend for a week in France.
The NYU Tisch program I took in Ireland was absolutely fantastic. Not only did we complete some challenging films we also met some amazing people. The course was taught by the graduate film professor at NYU. For those of you who don't get what that means... It means this wasn't summer camp. The first day he told us:
"Sleep is for the weak... AFTER my class"
That held true with days starting at 6:30 or 7am and going until 9 or 10 at night.
It was a group of 9 students for filmmakers and 12 actresses (all girls around my age). These actresses did their own separate program and are not the actors seen in the films below. Those actors are all professionals in Ireland. Within the first week we were down to 8 filmmakers when one had to go home

PE: Muro Challenge ResultsHello there,
As part of #projecteducate, I had a little challenge for +forum people. In the DrawPLZ Forum, I posted a thread on Tuesday.

One of the activities for Project Educate, Photomanipulations, was for the community to ask questions for The Experts. "Ask Me Anything", came up with ten excellent questions for ten Experts to answer.
