Martin Luther King Jr, was a beloved minister and leader/activist for nonviolent protest during an era where protest had a propensity towards violence. For 13-years he led the Civil Rights Movement, giving profound speeches and getting people involved from the grassroots level to participate in peaceful protest.

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had wonderful holiday season and are enjoying the end of the year!
We are so close to finishing the Symbol of Peace film, so we wanted to share some updates and our trailer with you all today. Our website, http://thesymbolofpeace.com has also been updated and is ready for additional submissions of images if you wish to share them! In addition, there is now a mobile interface!

The Symbol of Peace has now been in production for many months. After our July and August interviews we have been working hard on getting other images from across the globe to give us the best variety for the film. Today we have images from #OccupyWallstreet

"The Tale of the Three Brothers" story comes from Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". It is, also related in a separate book Rowling published called, "Tales of Beetle the Bard", a fun and interesting read.
The suggester says of the deviation, "Amazing concept and execution. You really can't stop staring at this beautiful, detailed scene!" I totally agree. A wonderful interpretation of the how the three brothers would look holding the "Deathly Hallows" given to them by Death!

Traditionally drawn, this version of Snape stays close to the book description of the character. Snape walks through the forest as seen by the trees on either side of him, as he holds the sword of Gryffindor, to place it in the lake for Harry to find. Drawn in black and white, it represents the stark coldness of the night, as well as the cold, but necessary overture of having to place the sword in the frigid water.

First off, let me introduce myself. I am `TimberClipse, or Zev and founded this group over a year ago with $Ayame-Kenoshi and many other wonderful deviants. Since then, we have grown to become a huge group with a great following. We are always looking for ways to expand and improve. This was temporarily hampered because of the Sta.sh and News Portal/Journal Portal improvements that deviantART was working on, but we have decided to push ahead now that they are near completion.
There will be a number of large changes for you all. We are going to outline them all out here, and if there are any complaints, concerns, etc. please send myself, `TimberClipse a note, or if you prefer it to be public comment on this announcement! These will all go into effect on January 1, 2012 for our first article on January 15, 2012.

Hi there, I’m Lauren

I’m 16 years old and into my sophomore year in my high school. I spend my time at home during the weekends (or all day during the summer) and in school. When I am not in school, I am spending at least 20+ hours a week playing in the marching band (which, technically, I would still be in school

). When I’m not getting my ass kicked on the football field or catching up to my homework, I spend time on deviantART.
Anyway, I love to read, write, and play on my flute. I am a bit shy in real life, so writing something down does help me express myself. I am getting busier now, so it’s hard to do many things in my spare time. It does, however, keep me sane

As a protest of #SOPA and #PIPA (The Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act) two pieces of legislation that are up for debate once again on January 18, 2012, I will be blacked out from all my websites, deviantART included. What does this mean?
"On January 18, between 8am and 8pm EST (or 13:00 and 01:00 UTC), Reddit will be blacking out their website in protest of SOPA and PROTECT IP. back in the old days, college students went to libraries and read books to study

lawls. Guess they all see how much easier their lives are made by having information at their fingertips. And see how impacted we would all be if they were shut down. Imagine how pissed they'd all be then.
