Last week, we asked you to show us your improvement. We saw some incredible improvement from deviants, and we are so glad to hear that deviantART has helped so many grow as deviants.

barananduen told us about finding her own manga style:
FINDING MY OWN "MANGA" STYLE: When I joined DA back in 2004, I wanted to learn how to draw in manga style, because I'd been watching Wolf's Rain on TV and fallen in love with that type of stylization, especially the way they did eyes. I started trying to do their style to see what it was about (see first thumbnail), but once I'd done a couple, I wanted to then develop my own type of manga style. I didn't want a completely traditional manga style with the  pointy chins, and I also wanted something even less simplified in the way men's eyes are drawn (even though I still loved how they looked, I wanted something else for my own). I wanted something that was more a combination of eastern, western, and not overly cartoony, but not 100% realistic either.

This week, we have another fun challenge for you! deviantART just turned 14 on August 7, 2014!

When I was 14, all I thought about was boys.
