Hello Everyone!
I would like to formally welcome each and every one of you to the official #
deviant365 group! We have a fantastic year ahead for all of you filled with events, contests, weekly tasks and perhaps most importantly, prizes! Every week we will be posting a task that hopes to get those creative juices flowing in your mind. Sometimes they will be simple, sometimes you might have to submit art, and sometimes they might be a week long task you partake in! But in every case, we hope to make them fun!
Happy New Year, and may these tasks lead you to your greatest endeavor!
This week the task is to answer this question:
What are your goals, ambitions, or artistic endeavors for the upcoming year? Comment with your idea, and two deviants who do will win a

Submit something new you posted on deviantART to the new

be more active generally
-Finish writing my novel, Bounty.
-Get revenge on the kid who beat me in a dog show last year. He was my arch-nemesis before that, and then he beat me (one place ahead). I would have been okay with that. But then he threatened my dog. Not cool. I will have my revenge.
-Beat the boy who always wins the art awards in fair. He wins three categories every year, and always gets best in show. Jealousy? Heck yes. MaddyPama and I are going to win this year, though.
-Train the new rescue puppy. A new little dog to take to shows. He's not very well trained. I hope he can help me with that revenge thing...
-Continue to work on my photography skills and take a lot more pictures using manual settings and focus.
-Learn how to play a new instrument, either guitar or flute, or maybe both! (Music is art, too!
-Contribute a lot more photos and videos to the stock community on deviantart.
-Create more stop motion animations.
-Complete a project I've been working on for a long time: a funny illustrated choose your own adventure story drawn in a simple notebook.
-Create some short musical compositions and improve my knowledge of music theory.
-Suggest as many daily deviations as possible and (hopefully) one that gets accepted!
-There is a story that has been floating around in my head for a while now...I really want to get it down on paper! I also want to write poetry more often.
-Continue planning the deviantART Online Band project that I started a brainstorm for over at #BandGeeks and hopefully make it a reality soon. Similar to the youtube orchestra, we want to take a composition and have musicians send in recordings and videos of them playing their parts, and combine everything together to create a virtual symphonic band.
Looks like I've got a lot on my plate for this year...and the list keeps getting longer! But my overall goal, one that encompasses everything else, is to be more optimistic and compassionate this year, and to practice a lot more random acts of kindness. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle, so my biggest goal is to make someone smile every day, and be an inspiration for others. To me, becoming a better artist is only a small step away from becoming a better person. Here is a quote that has become my strong guideline for 2013:
"Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble." - Christian D. Larson
