Those are the "if's" that people always make.
If a person in an accident possibly woke up earlier and didn't have to speed, then maybe he lived. But "if's" just doesn't make any difference in the world. That person is still dead.
Well that's just an example.
I just feel like, its better to appreciate what has already been done.
Yeah, when I was watching the movie I was thinking, he is showing this to the world, including the rebels. But I still found it better that they took action. Because are we just gonna let things happen, when we know they're suffering. Maybe we can't solve it. But we won't know until we try. And that is what they're doing, trying. But at the same time, producing results, they saved many children. It really isn't much about stopping LRA to me, its just the children being treated as slaves that I can't stomach. So what if they are now threatened, I can threaten Obama all I want, but that ain't gonna be giving me anything. US has power, and they CAN stop LRA.

Lastly, we're talking about what it is right now.
Invisible Children is here, what else can we do, we can try to help,
cause unfortunately, the "if invisible children didn't exist" ain't gonna be happening.
They do exist. And how do we know that it was better the way it was before, how would we know it won't get worst. With this we actually know it might be worst, but COULD BE MADE BETTER.

Well that's just all of my opinions.
I hope not to offend anyone. Just wanna appreciate the efforts of those who try, unlike me.

The US has tried to kill Kony on several missions. Each has failed. So the US can stop the LRA? Then why do they still exist, if on several occasions, they have put forth effort to stop them?

The biggest problems with Invisible Children is that they don't know what the heck they are doing. They're rich kids with cameras. Their actions have made Kony able to enslave more children. That cease-fire that they pressured the Ugandan government into? It directly gave Kony ample opportunity to raid villages, because he had nothing better to do. Without that cease-fire, they would have had peace talks. Without our troops being sent over there there would have been peace talks. So a few children being able to go to school vs. enabling hundreds of children to be enslaved/killed by interfering? That's what you're saying is worth it.

It's like someone sending 100 kittens to a pit of kitten-eating monsters, then giving a couple thirsty puppies some water, and saying that it's better than doing nothing.

Thanks for sharing this.
I didn't really believe the stories before, but now I do.

However, I wouldn't call it a "scam". It's not a scam for money, the money raised is being spent on the charity, just too little of it is going to the cause.

Scam Definition: A dishonest scheme

I would say this qualifies. They say they are helping Children in Uganda... Then what do they do with your money? Well... Not that...
It is dishonest.

I tend to disregard viral things that go around that ask for money; guess my gut was right this. :iconfacepalmplz:

I hadn't heard of Invisible Children until just the other day when their recent video campaign went viral. Just from seeing that video, I knew that even though they have their hearts and minds in the right place, the groups that do this aren't always the best to donate to. I don't like saying anything negative, especially about people who are trying to help others, but it just really looks like they don't have their act together.

I despise Joseph Kony and the campaign is pretty much stupid as well.
I'm still willing to spread awareness but they're not getting "donations" from me any day.

Im afraid I have to agree with you :/
What Kony did is 100% wrong and he should be hung...
But the more I looked into it, the more I felt less and less sure about invisible children.
Everything you pointed out is everything I caught, I find it a shame...

I personally don't back Inv. Children as an entity at all. :| But I'm all for raising awareness of anything that I think needs to be viewed. But I guess that's pretty obvious by now. :giggle: I can say this, they accomplished their goal - They got the word out. The other good thing that came of it, though, is that people know about them, now, too. They did REAL excellent there. And a lot of people didn't know about the Ugandan military at all either until now, as well. So at least they exposed three things, including their selves. And hey, it pulled a lot of people together quickly. I'm personally hoping this will motivate all of them to get involved with other charities that actually do something. Like Africare. Sooooooo much better than Inv. Child. So so so much better. :stare:
