That's why I only donate to legit, certified charities/organisations like UNICEF and the Red Cross or, even better, to local ones like that priest nearby who runs a kitchen for poor kids.
Someone at my school is walking around with "Kony 2012" on it; I tried to tell him about the above fact, but "they don't care where he is; they'll find him".
One of the girls at work showed me it, but something didn't sit right with me. glad I'm not the only one. It's good that it's bringing aareness so people are exposed to it and maybe one day the awareness to this will help bring change. But, they are mostly cheating people of money. that is far too much to spend on staff etc.
I donate to comic/sport relief which gives aid to africa, and has better results as they go out themselves to bring change and help people. it's pretty much a big PR campaign for a lot of companies but it usually rakes in over £60 million (it his 74 million last year) which helps all sorts of people in africa and the UK.
