Hey y'all, it's that time of year again to get into the holiday spirit. It's a great time for gift-giving and showing that you care for one another. Unfortunately, there are quite a few people this holiday spirit who do not have enough to be able to send out many gifts. Because of that, this year we want to help as many deviants as possible.
`JoseFelipeM and `TimberClipse are working together this year to raise AT LEAST 15,000

How did you first discover deviantART?

I was looking at art online when I was young, and saw `loish's work, it eventually led me to deviantART. I lurked for a while, then eventually joined!
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

I wanted to post my artwork... however once I discovered chats, I learned about GMs (now CV's) and Daily Deviation suggesting. I had and continue to have the loving support that keeps me here, along with my ability to find and collect beautiful artwork- Tis it is all about the art!

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a year can fly by. I've made it a practice over the years to sit back and reflect on the year, what went well, what didn't and where I'd like to see the new year go. A year can bring a lot of lessons and without reflection it's hard to ensure that you've taken away everything important from it. I apply this personally and to deviantART and it's that time again

First off, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?
Hi there, I’m Lauren

I’m 16 years old and into my sophomore year in my high school. I spend my time at home during the weekends (or all day during the summer) and in school. When I am not in school, I am spending at least 20+ hours a week playing in the marching band (which, technically, I would still be in school

). When I’m not getting my ass kicked on the football field or catching up to my homework, I spend time on deviantART.
Anyway, I love to read, write, and play on my flute. I am a bit shy in real life, so writing something down does help me express myself. I am getting busier now, so it’s hard to do many things in my spare time. It does, however, keep me sane

I know that many deviants have had a rough past year. I know I have. For some, it was the economy, for some changes in their families and loved ones, and I know for some it has even been on deviantART. We have all had struggles, but this time of year, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, is as good a time as any to thank people for what we DO have.

In this world of little, we all have something we hold dear to our hearts. Now is the time to say thanks.

1. I'm really thankful for all the support I've gotten on deviantart for my drawings...even if at first my wolves looked more like horses with spaghetti legs

2. I'm thankful that my parents allow me some privileges (not a huge amount, but some), such as having a bunch of my friends over until midnight

3. This is probably going to sound really sappy and really cliche, but I'm thankful for my boyfriend, *Dyiad, because he's epic

I am thankful for

all the opportunities and experiences I've been exposed to since being on deviantART. Its been an integral part of my life and I wouldn't be anywhere without all the people I've had the pleasure to meet and learn from. There's not a thing I would change

The fact that my parents sacrifice so much for me to be where I am in life, and knowing that I can count on them when I need them most; that is most important to me.

I am thankful that I am alive and well..no physical handicaps, no health issues that are of grave concern. I am truly grateful for my health.

Mainly the fact that you know, people won't just turn down my art because it isn't top notch quality. I'm glad an admin doesn't go through and rid the pieces he or she deems not worthy.

They've always held me up. One even told me that the world hasn't turned its back on me, I'm just facing the wrong way. That's helped me.
