Traditional Tuesdays #52OMG OMFG OMFG! This is week fifty-two of this little article, and I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. #Traditionalists is a new group aimed at giving the traditional art community their own unique voice by giving the traditionalists a place to gather, organize, and inform others with the help and guidance of the traditional Community Volunteer team. The idea behind this project was to open the channels of communication between the traditional community and the traditional CVs so that we can all work together and develop a main hub for all things traditional. If you haven't joined this group yet, we'd like to encourage you to do so.

Thank you for allowing me to interview you, let's start off by having you introduce yourself.
Hi! My name is Janine, I'm 22 years old, living in Ontario, Canada.
How many years ago did you begin sculpting and what got you interested in this medium?
I started sculpting around the end of 2007. I had been browsing deviantart looking at breyer customs and came across original sculptures others had made. I had never heard of polymer clay and had assumed you needed a huge kiln to sculpt. I decided to try it out and have been hooked ever since!

Celebrating Diversity #13In this issue of Celebrating Diversity, I would like to remind you of an amazing feeling...when you see a piece of art created in a medium or genre that you have little or no experience of working in, and it feels like you're witnessing something magical, something beyond your comprehension.
It's wonderful to revel in the joy of How do they do that? and find inspiration in the creations of other artists. So I challenge you to take a step outside of the galleries that you regularly browse and immerse yourself in the experience of indulging in something new.

Amazing 2013 Feature [#1]

Hello Everyone,

First off, I wanted to announce: On my profile there is now a commission widget that offers low-cost commissions for anyone interested. I will comment or critique deviations of your choice and then use the points to help with contests and other events. I am aware of the amount dA takes away and this is OK.

Secondly, I am starting a new feature this year. Every day I have been making myself find 10 pieces of art I really like. Usually in the photography category, but I am not steadfast to that as a requirement. Each of these pieces I share on Tumblr as a way to gain them exposure as well as keep a log for myself. I am then going to take a few of those pieces every now and then and feature them here on deviantART.

I hope you enjoy the feature.
