During my trip to Canada in August 2015, I was able to capture the Manitoba. A 607’ 10’’ Lake boat on Munuscong Bay off the coast of St. Joseph Island in Ontario.
The vessel was launched as the Mantadoc on November 23, 1966 for the N.M. Paterson & Sons Ltd. fleet of Thunder Bay, ON. This vessel’s construction was ordered as a result of a need to replace Paterson’s old, small bulk carriers and to augment the fleet’s capacity. The Mantadoc was named after the Province of Manitoba (“Manta”) which is the provincial location of Paterson’s corporate head office in Winnipeg, MB- via BoatNerd

Captured on a 5D MK II, Canon 24-105 f/4.0 L. This shot was taken from another smaller craft that we drove around and beside the Manitoba to get this shot.

I like the composition did you use a wide angle lens? You can see your a professional photographer because your photographs. I like the colours and the wear and tear on the boat stand out. I like how the sky and sea contrast. The vision is clear and the impact second to none. The technique is good if this is a wide angle lens. I like how you got the whole boat in the photograph missing even just a small bit of it would have ruined it although it might have added a creative touch to it. Did you edit the photograph?
