Photograph Taken by myself, =TimberClipse

Category: Photography

Best Viewed Small at first to allow you to see entire image.

PLEASE NOTE: The Ribbon was NOT made by the airplanes. For 2 hours surrounding this image no planes were flying with smoke on board!

I took this photo today while out on a photo shoot, and thought it was so cool that the Breast Cancer Awareness (ref: [link]) Ribbon seemed to appear in the sky.

The photo was not set up.

This photo is edited but only with slight color/sepia tones added. Otherwise it has remained the same. There was no photo shopping to make the clouds look like this, it is how they were naturally found and photographed.

I decided to upload this to the Think Pink V contest. I do realize that it is not "pink" per say, but I feel that the message is the same as anything that could be in pink.

Thank you for taking a look.

Best,

=TimberClipse

This was photographed wonderfully. The colors are definitely brilliant. I'm guessing by the looks of this photograph this was shot in the evening or late afternoon. But still a brilliant shot. I definitely don't see anything wrong with this photograph. Brilliant just brilliant!! Definitely deserves a thumbs up d(-~-)b make that double. I may not be a great photographer but still this has definitely impacted me in a good light. I love those hill in this pictures. This picture makes me want to go to where it was taken. Beautiful scenery indeed. You've definitely left a good impression on me. Thank you for posting this photograph. It has definitely made my day quite a bit better.

I love the colours in this photo. The quite reddy tones gives off a very warm feel from it. I love the contrast between the warm colour of the trees and the cool colour of the sky, looks great against eachother!

I think something that could be improved is the bottom half of the photo. I think the photo would look a lot better and more eye catching if the airplanes weren't cut in half. The colours of the planes are so bright and sharp, I'd love to see the whole of the planes and not just half of them. I think it would just top the photo off.

I do think you have a good eye for photography, spotting the shape of the ribbon in the sky.

Great capture! Keep it up! :) (Sorry I'm not the best at giving critique :P).

easily my favorite piece in your gallery. I think you made a good call with the sepia tones. I love that red airplane in the corner, I don't think this piece would be as interesting without it, just that little bit of colour is so intriguing!

No planes with smoke on board were flying. That is correct.

I don't quite know what to make of the foreground. Its colours are a cross between unnatural and edgy; like they can't really decide which way to go. ^^; The airplanes do take away from the magnificence of the photo, because they imply that an airshow has just finished and the ribbon was intentional. As for the colour editing, the sepia tones make the photograph look old, as if it were a cherished memory of a one-in-a-million cloud formation. However, the sepia also makes the clouds appear yellowed, which isn't too great. So, I'm guessing you can go three ways: a) Stick with the sepia and the antique feel, b) Make the colours really vivid, to show off the contrast between blue sky and white clouds, or c) something else I haven't thought of :D. Just one thing I'd like to mention though; I don't think it's fair to restrict the meaning of the photo to just breast cancer. Ribbons represent awareness for many different things. I'd put "Awareness Clouds" as the title, and "What are you fighting? Who are you fighting for?" in the Artist's Comments. My personal opinion. Just felt like getting it out there. Great shot, you're one lucky photographer. :D

The funny thing, is that the planes that are shown (and I am adding this to the description atm). is that most of these planes can barely fly. They were very old.

In addition, the formation was not actually made at ALL on purpose lol :D

Oh, yes, I know. I read the Artist's Comments. My point is, that for anyone not reading your comments, it seems like it was intentional.
